SunDub and Easy Star Records Present “Brooklyn Riddim”: A Global Reggae Collaboration

Brooklyn Riddim, a reggae compilation produced by Brooklyn-based SunDub and released by the iconic Easy Star Records, is set to make waves to start summer 2025. This project unites a dynamic lineup of artists from around the world, each offering a fresh vocal performance over a single original instrumental track crafted by SunDub.

The compilation will roll out in groups, beginning with Batch 1, featuring SunDub, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Sailor Jane, and Clatta Bumboo set for release on May 9, 2025.

Blending classic and contemporary reggae styles, Brooklyn Riddim also includes contributions from a stellar roster of artists, with the second and third batches to feature songs from Cas Haley, The Meditations, Mo’Kalamity, Vysionaer, Coolie Ranx, Easy Star All-Stars, Kumar, Salomón Beda, and more. The full project will be released in June 2025. The music was recorded in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Studios, with legendary guitarist Earl “Chinna”Smith sitting in with the band for the sessions.

SunDub’s version over the riddim, “Love and Humanity,” is the first single from the band’s upcoming new album, also coming out on Easy Star, due for a late Summer 2025 release. This will mark the band’s second album on Easy Star, and also follows a couple years of the band spearheading Brooklyn Reggae, an organization and community helping to push the genre within the tri-state area.

The result is a vibrant, cross-cultural celebration of reggae music—one that honors its deep roots while pushing the genre forward.

Brooklyn Riddim will be available on all major streaming platforms, beginning May 9.
